  Love a gallery! This place is huge and has a variety of different arts from all around the world. Would have been lovely to see traditional indigenous art from Australia. Free entry and a great way to spend a rainy day.

  From outside the building is a bit of a monstrosity. However, the collection is good and worth seeing, especially the galleries devoted to Aboriginal art. We had lunch in one of the café’s situated on the second floor. The salmon sandwich was absolutely memorable. It was fresh and tasty and the service was excellent. They also serve fresh orange juice. It was just a pity that we were short of time and had to leave. Would definitely go back to the museum and have lunch there again.
  The gift shop is also very good, with a range of items ranging from the contemporary to Aboriginal art. I bought my wife a scarf with an Aboriginal design and we did not see such a pretty one during the remaining four weeks of our trip around Australia.

  Enjoyed the most a porcelain collection from the UK dated 17-18 century, collection of Venetian glass from 15-17 cent. It was interesting to have a look at exhibition of furniture and outfit from early XX cent. Temporary exhibition of fashion collection of Japanese designers was a new experience for me.
  Place is nice, worth to visit especially with free admission but don’t expect anything close to European collections and museums. You will need around 2-2,5 h of slow strolling along the gallery halls and reading all the descriptions. Go and for sure you will learn something new!

  First off, this gallery is free to the public. It has a lovely outdoor sculpture garden with seating so you can relax and enjoy the setting. The must see exhibit in the gallery is the largest stained glass ceiling in the world! Unbelievable to see it in person. The galleries have a range of exhibits which are well signed. There are also at least three eating areas depending on what you want. We ate at the Museum Cafe and the food and service was quick and delicious. It is also across the street from the Botanical Gardens and on the tram lines although it is one stop beyond the free tram zone but from Federation Square (last stop in the free tram zone) it is a short walk across the bridge.

  This beautiful place, helpful and nice staff here. You can see asian Culture European culture, most of pictures with details. You have to need 2 or 3 hours for looking after all. You should must visit here..
